

2008 – JMFC commissions a 200kW, Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell unit at the Johnson Matthey site in West Deptford, NJ.
2007 – More than 400 commercial shipments made within the calendar year.
2006 – JMFC signs a market channel agreement with PolyFuel Inc.
2005 – JMFC membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) reach consumers in a commercial portable power device.
2005 – JMFC launches a commercial direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) MEA with performance in excess of 100mw/cm2 at 0.45V.
2004 – Over 33,000 MEA components sold.
2004 – First JMFC automotive customer quality approval (PPAP) received.
2003 – 100th customer order for MEA components fulfilled.
2003 – The world’s largest MEA manufacturing facility is completed in Swindon, UK. The purpose built JMFC facility uses state of the art, high volume, flexible manufacturing methods and includes a rapid prototyping capability for customers requiring pre commercial volumes.
2001 – The company fully commissions its world class testing facility, based at Sonning Common in the UK. To date, over 300,000 hours (35 years) have been logged on the large active area test stands alone.
2000 – Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells Ltd (JMFC) formed, demonstrating Johnson Matthey’s commitment to fuel cell technology.
1990 – Johnson Matthey begins intense research and development efforts in PEM fuel cells, specifically fuel cell components.
